The Ride to Vote

The most important ride of the decade
In the 2016 Presidential election, 15 million people cited transportation issues as the main reason for not voting. In 2018, as one of the largest transportation companies in the country, Lyft wouldn’t want to let that happen again. ‘The Ride to Vote’ was an initiative that offered discounted Lyft rides to and from the polls, with completely free rides in underserved communities. The initiative became a program that runs every National election.
The mural of 10,000 unused ballots
In order to create buzz, drive media attention, and promote our discounted rides to the polls, we created an out-of-home installation in NYC that consisted of ten thousand unused voting ballots.
A country-wide, color agnostic effort
To encourage voting turnout, colorful billboards in multiple cities and social media content promoted the initiative.
